Tor Freeman
I was born and educated in London, and graduated from Kingston University with a BA in Illustration in 1999. In my 20s I worked as a medical secretary, primary and secondary school art teacher and university lecturer. When I was around 30 I was able go full-time as a freelance illustrator, author and comics-maker. I have published over 40 books and am a regular contributor to magazines including Tralalire, Pomme d’Api and the weekly story comic, The Phoenix.
In 2012 I was awarded a Sendak Fellowship, and together with two other illustrators spent a month in Connecticut in September 2012. In November 2017 I was the winner of the Observer/Cape/Comica graphic short story prize.
In recent years, I have become more interested in comics and graphic stories, particularly aimed at an all-ages audience. I have a regular newsletter with writing about creativity and lots of drawing.

Karrie Fransman and Jonathan Plackett
Karrie Fransman’s comics and visual stories have been published in The Guardian, The Times etc. She published two graphic novels with Penguin Random House; ‘The House That Groaned’ (2012) and ‘Death of the Artist’ (2015) and co authored ‘Gender Swapped Fairy Tales’ (2000) and ‘Gender Swapped Greek Myths’ (2022) with Jonathan Plackett published by Faber & Faber. Jonathan Plackett is a digital inventor who specialises in creating playful and shareable interactive experiences, including apps, websites, filters, music videos, games and books. Elyon
Elyon is one of Africa’s most innovative comic creators as well as a stand-up comedian, comic festival Director and curator. She is a comic creative based in the Republic of Congo and founder/Director of the Bilili BD Festival.
