Scarlett and Sophie Rickard are graphic novelists. Collaborating on every stage of a project, Sophie makes up the stories and Scarlett draws the pictures. This has been going on since they were children, when Scarlett’s constant refrain was “Tell me what to draw!”
The sisters grew up in the Ribble Valley in Lancashire, and the culture and landscape of the north-west feature prominently in their first novel Mann’s Best Friend.
Scarlett is an illustrator and graphic artist living in Kent. Sophie is a writer and child counsellor living in Cheshire. They are both collie owners. Despite living hundreds of miles apart they work closely on every stage of their projects — and have a lot of fun doing it.
